Flick posts top-five finish to lead Warriors on first day of Swarthmore Invitational

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Senior Stacy Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton Area) posted a season-best time of 25.41 to finish fifth in the 50-yard freestyle and lead the Lycoming College swimming teams at the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday night, Dec. 3, at Ware Pool.

Freshman Jennie Marosits (Mt. Lakes, N.J./Mt. Lakes) led the Warriors in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing in 17th at 5:40.56, besting her season-high by nearly six seconds.

Sophomore Hope Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) added a time of 2:23.20, besting her season-high by four seconds, to finish in 16th in the 200-yard individual medley.

Sophomore Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) added a time of 26.85 in the 50-yard freestyle and freshman Meredith Ellmore (Lothian, Md./Southern) added a time of 30.29, besting her previous best time by more than half a second.

On the men’s side, the Warriors were led by freshman Peter Fields (Burke, Va./Robinson), who topped his previous-season best in the 200-yard individual medley, notching a time of 2:10.68 to finish 16th.

Senior Joe Kuder (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) finished 19th  in the 500-yard freestyle, posting a season-best time of 5:28.34. Freshman Christian Baxter (Springfield, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) also posted a season-best time in a 22nd-place finish at 5:43.51.

The Warriors wrap up their time at the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 4. The invitational will resume at 9 a.m.
