CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore Michelle Herman (Altoona, Pa./Hollidaysburg) posted a solid finish of 35th in a field of 198 runners to lead the Lycoming College cross country teams at the DeSales University Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9. On the men’s side, the team finished 20th in a 24-team field.
Herman posted a time of 25:20.20 in the 6,000-meter race to pace the Warriors, as only five other Middle Atlantic Conference runners finished ahead of her in the race.
Freshman Michael Puchalski (Redlands, Calif./Redlands East Valley) once again paced the men’s team, finishing 138th in the 277-runner field, posting a time of 30:48.29 in the 8,000-meter course. Senior Jake Lewis (Mickleton, N.J./Kingsway Regional) added a 171st-place finish, as he posted a time of 31:56.40.
Junior Robert Wiechecki (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) added a time of 33:21.81 to finish 210th, sophomore Kevin Gueran (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) added a time of 36:03.56 to take 245th and senior Rob Holmes (Oxford, Mass./Oxford) added a time of 36:41.46 to place 249th in his first race of the season.
Senior Jordan Baker (St. Mary’s, Pa./Home-schooled) took 256th with a time of 38:13.35, senior Patrick Welteroth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) crossed the line in 53:12.65 to take 276th.
The Warriors will host an exhibition Alumni Run on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. as part of Homecoming before getting back into action on Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Cabrini Invitational.
