Warriors post eight season-best times at MAC Championships

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Sophomore Michelle Herman (Altoona, Pa./Hollidaysburg) posted a season-best time to take 34th to lead the Lycoming College cross country teams, which posted eight season-best times on the day, at the Middle Atlantic Conference championships held on the campus of Delaware Valley College on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Herman posted a season-best time of 24:47.04 to lead the women’s team, as she bested her season-best in a 6,000-meter race by 33 seconds.

Freshman Michael Puchalski (Redlands, Calif./Redlands East Valley) led the men’s team to a 13th place finish in the 15-team field, as he crossed the 30-minute barrier for the second time this season. Puchalski’s season-best time of 29:34.28 was good for 77th-place.

Senior Jake Lewis (Mickleton, N.J./Kingsway Regional) added a time of 31:26.00 to take 103rd and junior Robert Wiechecki (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) took 109th with a personal-best time of 31:54.89.

Senior Robert Holmes (Oxford, Mass./Oxford) ran his best race of an injury-plagued season, as he finished with a time of 33:05.86 to take 117th. Sophomore Kevan Guerin (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) also added a personal-best time of 33:30.74 to take 118th.

Senior Alex Beattie (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) also tacked on a personal-best to take 127th, finishing in 34:51.37 and sophomore Isaiah Thomas (Bergenfeld, N.J./Bergenfeld C.C.) also added a personal-best time of 35:26.30.

Senior Jordan Baker (St. Mary’s, Pa./Home-schooled) added a time of 38:57.32 and senior Patrick Welteroth (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) added a personal-best time of 46:56.49.

Freshman Kerri Kearney (Gardners, Pa./Bermudian Springs) added a time of 33:33.55 to finish 120th on the women’s side.

The Warriors will now prepare for the NCAA Mideast Regionals, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at Slippery Rock, Pa.
