COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. --- Lycoming College junior Stacy Flick continued to break records as she took down Ursinus College’s pool record in the 100-yard breast stroke. But the Lady Warriors fell to the Bears by a narrow 110-93 score on Saturday, Nov. 7.
The loss drops Lycoming to 1-1 on the season while Ursinus improves to 2-0.
Flick (Easton, Pa./Easton) broke the previous pool record of 1:09.99, set in 2008, with her time of 1:09.10 in the 100-yard breaststroke. She also took the No. 1 spot in the 100-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 57.25.
Freshman Lindsey Hunsicker (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) had a solid meet, picking up a second place in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:05.84 and combined with Hope Weber and Ashley Tudgay for a one-two-three finish in the 100-yard butterfly. Weber (Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor) took the top spot in the event with a time of 1:04.95, just edging Hunsicker’s time of 1:05.00. Tudgay snuck in for third in a time of 1:05.41. Weber also took first in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:21.39.
The team of Flick, Tudgay, Caroline LeHota (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) and Randi Bosch took second in the 200-yard medley relay in a time 1:57.48. The relay was helped by Bosch (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty), who swam the anchor leg in a team-best 25.96.
Sophomore Claire Zido (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) grabbed the second spot in the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:56.30.
The Lady Warriors return to their home pool on Wednesday, Nov. 11 when they host local rival Susquehanna University. The meet is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
