After pacing the Lycoming football team's defense as it posted a 42-24 win over WestConn, first-year defensive lineman Yahseam Stokes has earned his first career Warrior of the Week award. Stokes led the defense with six tackles, adding two sacks and he also blocked a kick in the win. His first sack stopped WestConn's opening drive on 3-and-4 and set up Lycoming's first score and his second sack, which came in the second quarter, ended a WestConn drive on 3-and-9. He capped the day by blocking a kick in the third quarter, which Ryan Pentz picked up and returned 75 yards for a touchdown.
Stokes has 15 tackles, three for a loss, two sacks, a pass breakup and two blocked kicks this season.
