2026 Lycoming College Field Hockey Preview

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A steady four years of progress was capped by the Lycoming College field hockey program, from relaunching the program after a 30-year hiatus in 2022 to back-to-back record-setting campaigns and its first appearance in the Landmark Conference Championship in 38 years, setting the standard for this season, when the team returns four of its top five scorers from 2025.

The Warriors finished 10-8 and 4-5 in the Landmark Conference during that campaign, checking off many milestones along the way: school records for wins and conference wins, goals, the first postseason appearance in school history, and the program's first winning season since 1978.

The program starts a new stage this year as sixth-year head coach Allyson Kenyon must replace the program's first recruiting class, mixing an intriguing blend of established contributors and promising prospects ready to move into a larger role.

Our veterans bring a lot of experience and are ready to step into bigger leadership roles this season. We return a really talented group of players, especially on the offensive end, and we’re excited to have several players returning healthy and ready to contribute. We also have some exciting new additions who have come in ready to compete, challenge for playing time and make an impact. The team has done a great job learning and working hard throughout the preseason, and we’re excited about the energy, competitiveness and commitment this group has shown. There’s a lot to look forward to with this team, and we’re ready to get going.

The Warriors will have to replace four-year contributor Autumn Shahan, but five players at the forward spot are returners, including two of the squad's three seniors.

Junior Lacy Eckard is already the program's all-time leader in goals and points, returning to help lead the offensive charge coming off a six-goal, six-assist campaign in 2025, setting a new program standard for single-season assists and finishing second in points behind sophomore Laurel Fite, who in her debut campaign tied Eckard's single-season record of eight goals in a season, adding four assists as well for a program-record 20-point season.

Despite missing four games, senior Carmen Hannon emerged with four goals and an assist last season, giving the Warriors another proven option on the front line. Senior Ava Daly will look to take a step forward after making four starts a year ago and notching an assist.

Sophomore Dana Stumpf and first-year Jaslyn Nida will also work for time at the position.

The midfield will be a different-looking group this fall following the graduation of four seniors: Victoria Burton, penalty corner specialist Katie Loughran, Riley Marines, and three-year captain Halie Woodring.

Senior Loghan Shelly is the most experienced of the bunch, with 48 career starts over her first three seasons, and she scored five goals and to go with two assists a season ago. Junior Jordyn Keffer is in line to step up after making a pair of starts a year ago, scoring her first career goal. Another junior, Riley Hackett, is expected to be a key piece.

Junior Maria DeRosa and sophomore Samantha Barile will also work for time at the position alongside a pair of first years, Abie Niedermyer and Jordan Saul.

The back line features another major loss to graduation, with the departure of three-time captain Tayah Bauer, the squad's second-leading scorer a season ago.

The Warriors return a trio of juniors: Annika Klinefelter, Melanie Langford and Kaley Kerns. Langford returns as the veteran leader of the defense, starting all but one game a season ago and logging an assist. Kerns and Klinefelter will strive for expanded roles after appearing in three and two games, respectively, last season.

Two newcomers will augment the group, first-years Sydnee Kleckner joined by the program's first international player, Northern Ireland native Gabi Magill, who will begin her sophomore year.

The Warriors will face the daunting task of replacing Isabella Bobé, who departed after a stellar career with more than 600 saves in her four years in the Lycoming cage, with junior Hilary Clark set to take over the position.
