WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming College volleyball team was picked to finish eighth in the Landmark Conference preseason coaches poll, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday, August 25.
Sixteen-time defending conference champion Juniata was again the unanimous pick at the top spot, garnering 81 points and nine first place votes, while last year's runner-up, Scranton, was selected second with 73 points. Catholic (60 points), Susquehanna (54 points), and Elizabethtown (48 points) round out the top half of the poll. Moravian (47 points), Drew (34 points), Lycoming (24 points), Goucher (15 points), and Wilkes (14 points) round out the preseason picks.
The Warriors enter a new era under first-year head coach Hannah Lingold, who takes the helm after longtime head coach Tim McMahon retired after 25 seasons and 354 victories. However, Lingold will start her tenure with nearly the entire roster returning, as Lycoming brings back all but one player from the 2025 squad, including a half-dozen seniors.
The Warriors finished second in the Landmark with a .145 opponents hitting percentage in 2025, when they posted a 13-14 record and a 2-7 mark in Landmark play. Sophomore Kamryn Skeith (Monroe, Wash./Sultan) finished ninth in the league with an average of 2.48 kills per set, fifth with 3.32 points per set and she led the conference with 0.58 aces per set and senior Ima Mercado (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) was ninth in the league in digs (3.55).
