Two Warriors earn CSC Academic All-District honors

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Two Lycoming College volleyball players – senior Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) and junior Haley Balgavy (Warrenton, Va./Kettle Run) – were honored as part of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
 
Eligible student-athletes must classify as at least a sophomore academically and carry a 3.50 minimum cumulative grade-point average. Additionally, the student-athletes must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets throughout the season. A maximum of four student-athletes can be honored from a team in volleyball.
 
The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball Team, which is selected by the College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
 
Upcraft was honored for a third time and Balgavy earned the award for the second.
 
Upcraft, a biochemistry major, played in all 27 matches as a middle hitter, leading the Warriors in blocks for the fourth straight season and finishing fourth in kills. She notched  season highs of 12 kills and seven total blocks against Albright. Upcraft finished second in the Landmark Conference in blocks per set (0.86) and seventh in hitting percentage (.276), completing her career 10th in school history in blocks (256). The team captain also earned Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship Team honors.  
 
Balgavy, a history major with elementary and special education certifications, also played in all 27 matches as a setter, tallying 313 assists, 99 digs, 24 service aces, and 10 kills. She finished second on the team in assists, logging a season-high 24 assists against Albright and posting a double-double of 13 assists and 13 digs at Chatham. She also earned her 1,000th career assist against Juniata, finishing the year ninth in the program's career record book.
 
The Warriors finished the season 13-14 overall and 2-7 in the Landmark Conference under 25th-year head coach Tim McMahon.
