2026 Lycoming College Softball Season Preview

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Led by a trio of returning .300 hitters and a wealth of experience around the diamond, the Lycoming College softball team will look to rebound from its first postseason miss in three years and return to to the top half of the Landmark Conference standings in 2026.

The Warriors will have a tall task in front of them in replacing a dynamic battery in two-time all-conference catcher Rachel Daub ‘25 and all-region pitcher/outfielder Avery Eiswerth ’25, but 13th-year head coach Melissa Montoro will have plenty of returning production returning to the fold. Lycoming will be returning seven of its nine position players, plus three of the four pitchers to toe the slab in 2025.

Twelve of the 15 players to see the field for the Warriors a season ago will be back in action, bolstered by a group of seven newcomers when they take the field for their season opener on Feb. 28 against Penn College.

We have a big senior class that has a lot of experience in big games in their careers, and they are also a group that didn't reach its goals last year. I think that has helped with their ability to expect accountability from each other this year. Senior leadership is going to be so important to our success because they have been there and had both successes and failures. With as talented a first-year class as we have, where we're going to have solid depth around the diamond pushing each other throughout the season, I am excited about what this group can do together.
