Lycoming lands three on All-Landmark softball team

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Lycoming College softball team saw a trio of seniors selected to the All-Landmark Conference softball team, with Mallory Rodarmel (Montoursville, Pa. / Loyalsock Township) earning second team honors in the outfield and Alex Eckerson (Hopatcong, N.J. / Morris Catholic) and Hailee Sobieski (Wharton, N.J. / Morris Catholic) each earning Honorable Mention nods at second base and third base, respectively, as announced by the conference office on Thursday, May 7.

This is the first all-conference selection for all three players and the first time the Warriors have had multiple all-conference picks since also having a trio selected in 2024.

Rodarmel was limited to just 15 games due to injuries, but still slashed .457/.460/.587 with 21 hits, three doubles, a home run, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. She also did not strike out a single time in 50 plate appearances in her senior campaign. Her home run was the difference in a 2-0 win over Drew. The three-year starter in center field finished her time at Lycoming by batting .295 with 78 hits, 38 runs, three home runs, and 41 RBI in her career.

Eckerson was a consistent presence in the second spot in the lineup and at second base, slashing .287/.330/.333 with 25 hits, four doubles, six RBI, and 17 runs scored. She also laid down a half-dozen sacrifice bunts on the season and set career highs in batting average, doubles, and runs scored, while matching her previous best in hits. Eckerson finished with 74 hits, 37 runs, and 20 RBI as a three-year starter for the Warriors.

Finally, Sobieski finished off a strong season at the hot corner. In her fourth year starting at third base, she slashed .352/.384/.440 with 32 hits, eight doubles, and 17 RBI, leading the Warriors in hits, doubles, extra-base hits, and RBI. Sobieski also became the 15th Warrior to reach 100 hits in a career, finishing the season and her Lycoming career with a .297 average, 106 hits, 20 doubles, two home runs, and 54 RBI.

Lycoming finished the season 10-20 and 5-9 in the Landmark under 13th-year head coach Melissa Montoro.
