WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Five members of the Lycoming College softball team landed on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams, as seniors Claire Alexander (South Williamsport, Pa. / South Williamsport) and Kristen George (Montoursville, Pa. / Montoursville Area), junior Kendall McAnelly (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area), and sophomores Jocelyn McCracken (Jersey Shore, Pa. / Jersey Shore Area) and Serenity Snyder (Reading, Pa. / Governor Mifflin) were honored by the organization, as announced on Tuesday, May 26.
The Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligibile, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games/contests. Softball pitchers qualify if they appear in 17 games or pitch 35 or more innings.
This is the third consecutive season that five Warriors were named Academic All-District, with Alexander and George being lauded on each of those lists.
Alexander earns Academic All-District honors for the third consecutive season. The senior finished her career with a lifetime .287 batting average and a school-record 37 career stolen bases. She also finished second in school history in runs scored (88) and sixth in career hits (123). Alexander is also a four-time conference academic honor roll selection and a three-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
George is also a three-time Academic All-District and four-time conference academic honor roll selection. In her final season, George set career bests in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, RBIs, and extra-base hits. She finished her career with 41 hits, 24 runs, and 16 RBI. She is also a three-time NFCA Scholar-Athlete.
McAnelly earns CSC recognition for the second straight season. The junior contributed on both sides of the ball, going 7-for-25 (.280) with three RBI at the plate, while also posting a strong season in the circle. She pitched in 20 of Lycoming's 30 games, going 3-3 with a team-best 3.36 ERA over 50.0 innings, including a complete-game shutout against Mt. Aloysius. McAnelly was a Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll selection and an NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2025.
McCracken earns her first Academic All-District honor. The sophomore hit .275 with four doubles and four RBI while playing in all 30 games. She is a career .323 hitter over her two seasons with the program, with 53 hits to her credit.
Snyder was named Academic All-District for the first time. As a sophomore, she appeared 24 games, including 21 starts in the outfield, notching four outfield assists and 43 putouts in center field and left field. Snyder was named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2025.
The Warriors finished 10-20 and 5-11 in the Landmark Conference under 13th-year head coach Melissa Montoro.
