WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.—After leading the Lycoming College baseball team to a season-opening series victory at Guilford College, senior first baseman AJ Llorente (Williamsport, Pa. / Montoursville Area) and junior right-hander Alex Halbert (Laurel, Md. / Atholton) were named Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
Llorente, a Second Team All-Landmark and All-Region V pick a season ago, picked up right where he left off, going 8-for-12 with a double and five RBI, while scoring three times. He posted three hits and two RBIs in the Warriors' season-opening 12-1 rout on Friday, Feb. 13. In the first game of a doubleheader the following day, he again posted three hits and two RBI in an 11-5 victory. He capped off the series with a 2-for-2 effort with a walk and an RBI in the nightcap on Saturday.
Halbert, after posting a 3.38 ERA in 29.1 innings a year ago, took the ball to start the season on Friday, setting the pace for Lycoming by spinning 4.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and brushing aside a pair of walks. The right-hander needed just 50 pitches to finish his four frames, and departed with a 5-0 lead.
The Warriors sweep the conference weekly honors for the first time in program history and earn the first two Athlete of the Week accolades in 2026 after Josh Bottger (Wilkes-Barre, Pa. / Wilkes-Barre Area) earned the final the final nod of '25. A record five Warriors in all earned a conference weekly honor last season.
Lycoming will take their 2-1 record back south this upcoming weekend for a three-game series at Marymount (Va.) on Feb. 21-22 in Arlington, Va. Action will get underway with first pitch of a doubleheader scheduled for noon on Friday, Feb. 21.
