With the graduation of school-record holder Katryn Yocum, the Warriors will turn to juniors Sydney Taylor and Ella Scott to lead the team this year, as both seen drops in their career-best times in each of their first two years in the program.
Taylor, just two years removed from chemotherapy treatments to treat Hodgkins Lymphoma, finished her sophomore season by posting a 26:02.3 time at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional meet, a pace nearly identical to the pace she set as a sophomore at Troy High School when she finished in the top 10 in District 4.
Junior Ella Scott also returns after seeing her times drop in each of her first two years in the program, finishing just behind Taylor at the regional in 26:11.1.
Junior Gwyn Fox saw her 8K time drop by more than a minute and a half in her first year with the team, finishing in 27:39.5 at the regional and junior Miya Knippenberg also ran a career-best time of 30:30.3 at the event.
Junior Meghan Farr and sophomore Sydney Cox return to the team, as well, as Farr posted a career-best time of 34:55.47 at the Landmark Conference Championships and Cox posted a 36:07.0 at the Lock Haven Invitational.
Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie joins the team as a dual-sport athlete, as she is also a forward on the women's basketball team.
