NEWVILLE, Pa.—The Lycoming College cross country teams competed on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational, with the men's team finishing in 15th place and the women finishing 17th out of the 21 schools present.
In the men's 8K race, senior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) was the top finisher for the Warriors, finishing with a time of 29:40. Junior Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del. / Polytech) was the second-fastest for Lycoming, finishing 99th with a time of 31:29. First-year Jacob Carr (Towanda, Pa. / Towanda Area) finished in 32:35 and junior Jayden Drummond (Georgetown, Del. / Sussex Central) ran a 42:40.
On the women's side in the 6K race, junior Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) was the quickest Lycoming runner, clocking in at 28:26 for 92nd place. Junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa. / Penns Valley) ran a 31:59 for 118th place, with juniors Miya Knippenburg (Ellicott City, Md. / Mount Hebron) and Anna Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) right behind her, running at a 32:00 and 32:41 pace, respectively, for 119th and 121st place.
Both cross country teams will compete in their final regular-season meet on Tuesday, Oct. 7 in Allenwood, Pa. at Penn College. The meet will begin at 6 p.m.
