ALLENWOOD, Pa. – Junior Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) finished second and junior Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) took fourth to pace the Lycoming College women's cross country team, which edged Penn College, 27-30, in a dual meet at the Penn College Earth Science Center on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 7.
 
Scott finished the 6K course in 27:28, just five seconds off the pace of medalist Alexis Durn of Penn College. Taylor crossed in 29:11, as the pair split up Durn, Elaina Brady and Ellie Miller, who finished 1-3-5 for the Wildcats.
 
The Warriors were able to clinch the meet, though, thanks to the next four Warrior finishers, with junior Anna Kauffman (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) taking sixth (31:52), junior Ann-Marie McMurtrie (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns Valley) in seventh (33:07), sophomore Emma Ashfield (Tamaqua, Pa./Marian Catholic) eighth (33:20) and junior Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) in ninth (33:42), as Lycoming's five scoring runners came in 2^nd, 4^th, 6^th, 7^th and 8^th, while Penn College's came in 1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, 10^th and 11^th.
 
On the men's side, junior Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del./Polytech) led the team on the 8K course with a fifth-place finish in 32:07, while senior Kenny Draper (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) was right behind him in 32:10 to take sixth.
 
Penn College finished in the top four spots and seven of the top 10 to win the dual meet, 17-43.
 
First-year Jacob Carr (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) took ninth in 32:46, junior Connor Cornelius (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) was 12^th (38:06) and junior Jayden Drummond (Georgetown, Del./Sussex Central) was 15^th in 43:10.
 
The Warriors are next on the course on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they head to Oak Ridge Park in Clark, N.J., for the Landmark Conference Championship at 11 a.m. (women) and 12 p.m. (men).
