WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three Lycoming College wrestlers - juniors
Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./ Boiling Springs),
Jimmy Ellis (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) and
Kobin Karper (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) – were honored as part of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's At-Large Team, the organization announced on Tuesday, June 18.
Crum is a two-time honoree, also earning the honor in 2024.
Crum, an economics major, wrestled at 184 pounds going 25-10 overall and 13-3 in dual meets. He recorded six falls, a school-record 15 tech falls, a major decision and three decisions. Crum also finished fourth at the NCAA Region 2 Qualifier after taking fifth at the regional as a sophomore. The junior is 76-35 in his career with a school-record 30 technical falls.
Ellis, a mathematics, quantitative economics and German major, notched a 16-14 overall mark and a 6-7 mark in dual meets as the team's starter at 197 pounds. He posted eight pins and four technical falls, and improved to 56-40 in his career.
Karper, a psychology major, wrapped up his junior season with a 20-8 record at 149 pounds. He recorded five falls, eight tech falls, four major decisions and a decision. A two-time regional placewinner, Karper was 1-2 at the regional this year. The junior is 58-20 in his career.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In wrestling, eligible student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in 70 percent of the institution's team-scoring contests.
