NCAA announces Pre-Championships brackets

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three Lycoming College wrestlers – senior 184-pounder Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs), junior 174-pounder Nolen Zeigler (Loysville, Pa./West Perry) and junior 165-pounder Kaiden Wagner (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) – are featured in the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships unofficial brackets.
 
The replacement deadline for the tournament is Tuesday, March 10 at 11 a.m. Eastern time. Should any seeded wrestlers be replaced, the bracket will be reseeded and redrawn, should a non-seeded wrestler be replaced, the bracket will be redrawn. 
 
Crum will be the first Warrior to hit the mat at the NCAA Championships, facing Hunter Moore of Roanoke in bout 39 in the pigtail rounds, with the winner of the match set to face Williams' Jamie Evarts in bout 111 on Friday morning.
 
Crum, who has won 103 matches in his career and holds the school record with 38 technical falls, will need to win three matches on Friday to earn All-American honors.
 
Zeigler, who led the Warriors and is fifth in his weight class with a 31-3 record this year, opens the tournament seeded 11th and will face sixth-seeded Bruce McDonough of Luther in bout 104.
 
Wagner is ranked 10th in the initial seeding after a 14-1 regular season and a Region II Qualifier championship and will open the tournament by facing seventh-seeded Brayden Peet of Wis.-Whitewater in bout 97.
 
Both Zeigler and Wagner will have to win two championship bracket matches, three consolation bracket matches or one championship match and one consolation bracket match to earn All-American honors on Friday.
 
The tournament will begin on Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. CT/10 a.m. ET, with preliminary rounds one and two and the consolation first round. At 6 p.m. CT, the championship quarterfinals, consolation second and third rounds will be contested. On Saturday, March 14, the championship semifinals and all remaining consolation matches will be contested at 11 a.m. CT before the finals begin at 8 p.m. CT.

Lycoming College will host a send-off for the three wrestlers on Tuesday, March 10, at 8:10 a.m., by the Keiper Recreation Center entrance.
