WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Lycoming College softball swept the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week awards with senior Rachel Daub (Honesdale, Pa. / Honesdale) earning the recognition for Athlete of the Week and senior Avery Eiswerth (Williamsport, Pa. / Williamsport Area) receiving the honor for Softball Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced on Monday, March 17.
Daub hit .500 (9-for-18) with 13 RBI, seven runs, three doubles and a triple in a 6-1 Spring Break trip for the Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic. She posted a 1.300 OPS with a healthy .778 slugging pct. and a .522 on-base pct. During Tuesday's competitions, Daub went 1-for-2 with a run and two RBI against Minn.-Morris before going 2-for-2 with four RBI, a run and a double against SUNY Canton. Daub went 1-for-2 with three RBI against Centenary on Wednesday before following up against the Cyclones on Friday, going 1-for-4 with a run, a triple and two RBI. Daub went 2-for-3 with a run and RBI against Delaware Valley as well as 2-for-3 with a run, two doubles and an RBI against Immaculata. She also clocked two runs in a 7-0 win over VSU Castleton.
Daub sits fourth in the league with a .500 batting average. She is also second in RBI (13) and stolen bases (5) as well as third in slugging pct. (.778) and OPS (1.300).
During her five appearances at Lycoming's Fast Pitch Dreams Spring Classic trip, Eiswerth recorded a 2-0 record with two saves. Eiswerth tossed 17 innings and struck out 26, helping her to become the seventh pitcher in program history to reach 200 career strikeouts. She allowed only 10 hits and two earned runs while holding hitters to a .169 batting average.
Eiswerth pitched five innings, during which she struck out seven and allowed only four hits and two walks, in a 9-1 win over Minn.-Morris on Tuesday. On Wednesday, Eiswerth earned a save against Centenary after she retired the last three batters in a 6-5 win, striking out one.
During Lycoming's 6-2 victory against Delaware Valley on Thursday, Eiswerth returned to the circle to throw a complete game, during which she struck out a career-high 12 batters and allowed only six hits and two runs. Eiswerth also tossed a three-inning save in the Warriors' 7-0 win over VSU Castleton on Friday, striking out five and retiring all nine batters in a row.
Eiswerth ranks first in the Landmark Conference in ERA (0.82), batters struck out (26), earned runs allowed (2) and saves (2). She also sits second in the conference in opponents' batting average (.169).
Eiswerth is the first Warrior to earn the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Week honors since Kylie Russell '24 earned the award on May 6, 2024. The award is the second of her career, as Eiswerth was named the Landmark Athlete of the Week on April 1, 2024.
The Warriors travel to Reading, Pa., on Tuesday, March 18, to compete against Albright in a doubleheader. The games will begin at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
