LEBANON, Pa. - Senior Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) finished 15th amongst 197 runners with a 5K time of 19:25:4 to lead the Lycoming College women's cross country team to a twelfth-place finish at the Dutchmen XC Invite in Union Canal Tunnel Park on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Sophomore Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) finished second amongst the Warrior women with a time of 22:23.1, making her the 100th runner to cross the finish line. Sophomore Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) immediately trailed behind Scott, finishing with a time of 22:26.9.
Senior Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) placed 115th with a time of 22:45.9 while sophomore Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) completed the race with a time of 24:34.9 to round out the scoring five.
Sophomore Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md. / Mount Hebron), who posted a time of 26:46.1 and senior Isabella Fave (Middleburg, Pa. / Midd-West), posted a time of 30:02.3 to also factor into the scoring.
For the men's team, junior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) led the Warriors with a time of 28:19.1, which placed him 58th in the field of 202 runners on the 8K course.
Sophomore David Boring (Montoursville, Pa. / Home-schooled) finished 162nd with a time of 32:31.6, followed by sophomore Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del / Polytech) (33:07.8), who crossed the finish line a minute later.
Senior Sean McKenna (Campbell, N.Y. / Campbell-Savona) rounded off the Warriors men competitors, finishing with a time of 37:31.2.
The Warriors compete again on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Eagle Invite in Reedsville, Pa. at Indian Valley Elementary Center. The men's cross country team will race at 5 p.m., while the women's team will begin at 5:45 p.m.
