DALLAS, Pa. – Senior Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) finished 13th amongst 88 runners with a 4K time of 16:20.50 to lead the Lycoming College women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the Misericordia Invitational on Friday evening, Aug. 30.
The Warriors posted a team score of 171 to take fifth in the 11-team field while the men's team finished ninth with a team score of 254 in the field of 11 teams.
Sophomore Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa./Troy) placed 49th with a time of 18:15:60, sophomore Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) (18:21:60) and senior Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) (18:26:40) placed 51st and 53rd and sophomore Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) (20:19:40) rounded out the scoring five for the Warriors.
Sophomore Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md. / Mount Hebron) (21:56:50), and senior Isabella Fave (Middleburg, Pa. / Midd-West) (22:50:90) rounded out the top seven finishers among the Warriors women's cross country team.
Junior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) led the Warrior men with a time of 14:19:00, which placed him 52nd in the field of 104 runners on the 4K course.
Sophomores Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del / Polytech) (16:12:20) and Connor Cornelius (Linden, Pa. / Jersey Shore) (16:17:70) finished within five seconds of each other to secure second and third place finishes among the Warriors. They finished in 89th and 90th place among all competitors. Senior Sean McKenna (Campbell, N.Y. / Campbell-Savona) (18:46:80) and freshman Aidan Rozetar (Shoemakersville, Pa. / Hamburg Area) (22:24:40) rounded out Lycoming's competitors.
The Warriors head back on the road on Saturday, Sept. 7, when they will race in the Dutchmen XC Invite hosted by Lebanon Valley. The women's team will run at 10:15 p.m., and the men will follow suit at 11 a.m.
