WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Sophomore
Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) reached the semifinals at 174 pounds with a three-win day to lead the Lycoming College wrestling team, which will have a record six grapplers place at the 2024 NCAA Southeast Regional, as all six claimed a spot in the top eight of their weight classes after the first day of the tournament at Keiper Recreation Center on Friday, March 1.

Crum, the No. 3 seed at 174, will face off with Stevens' second-seeded Stefan Major in the semifinals when the tournament restarts on Saturday, March 2, at 11 a.m. The winner will earn a berth at the NCAA Division III Championships, while the loser will need to win two matches in the consolation bracket to place third to earn the bid.

Lycoming finished the day sixth in the field of 22 teams with 64.5 points, behind Stevens (98), Roanoke (96), Delaware Valley (91), Averett (87.5) and Washington & Lee (73.5).

Crum picked up a pair of tech falls to give him a school-record 14Â on the season, surpassing the mark of 12 set by Seth Lansberry in 2016-17, to start his run at the tournament before he downed Shenandoah's Dylan Weaver, 9-5, in the quarterfinals, improving to 27-6 this year.

Majcher, the No. 3 seed at 125 pounds, posted a tech fall in his first round before Alvernia's Keito Shaw posted a 5-2 win in the quarterfinals. Majcher followed with a 15-0 tech fall of King's Patrick Horvath in the consolation bracket and will start his Saturday run against Delaware Valley's seventh-seeded Malik Asfour.

Unseeded Conselyea fell in his opening match before he posted three straight wins in the consolation bracket, including a 15-11 win over Messiah's Asa Brunk. He will face Penn State Behrend's Cole Neil to start his run on Saturday.

Unseeded Karper also fell in his opening match before coming back to post a tech fall and a major decision before notching a tech fall of Southern Virginia's Elijah Blackwell, 16-0, to place at the regional for the second year in a row. He starts his Saturday run against Roanoke's Jarrod Pominville.

Unseeded Bartlett notched a 2-1 tiebreaker win over sixth-seeded Justin Richey of Gettysburg to start his run at the tournament, riding Richey for all 1:00 minute of the tiebreaker. After a falling in the quarterfinal, Bartlett earned his second career placement at the regional with a pin of Thiel's Dominic Hartman in 6:39. He faces Messiah's Clay Gainer in his Saturday opener.

Crebs, seeded fourth at 197, placed at the regional for the fourth time in his career, opening the tournament with a pin and tech fall before a 16-6 setback to fifth-seeded Lorenzo Pellot of Roanoke in the quarterfinal. Crebs rebounded with a tech fall of Greensboro's Khalil Beck, 17-0, in the consolation bracket. He will face Alvernia's top-seeded Mauro Pellot to start his run on Saturday.
