CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Katryn Yocum (Carlisle, Pa. / Boiling Springs) placed 11th out of 147 runners with a time of 24:13.8 to lead the Lycoming College women's cross country team to a seventh-place finish at the DeSales Invitational in Center Valley, Pa., on Saturday morning, Oct. 12.
For the men's team, junior Kenneth Draper (Hughesville, Pa. / Hughesville) led the Warriors with a time of 29:25.5, which placed him 63rd in the field of 180 runners on the 8K course. The men placed 14th out of 16 teams.
Sophomore Ella Scott (Bethlehem, Pa. / Liberty) finished second for the Warriors and 47th with a time of 27:35.0. Keeping pace behind Scott, senior Maddy O'Connor (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) placed 69th with a 28:45.4 and sophomore Sydney Taylor (Troy, Pa. / Troy) followed in 71st with a 28:47.5.
Finishing fifth for the Warriors, sophomore Gwyn Fox (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona Area) clocked a time of 29:15.6 on the 6K course to place 79th.
Sophomore Miya Knippenberg (Ellicott City, Md. / Mount Hebron) (33:16.8), first-year Jerilynn Aguilar (Chicago, Ill. / ITW Speer) (35:35.0), first-year Sydney Cox (Felton, Del. / Lake Forest) (39:59.5), and sophomore Meghan Farr (Sellersville, Pa. / Pennridge) (40.31.9) rounded out the Lycoming College women's team.
On the men's side, sophomore David Boring (Montoursville, Pa. / Home-schooled) finished 124th with a time of 32:32.1, and sophomore Connor Cornelius (Linden, Pa. / Jersey Shore) followed in 141st with a time of 33:45.9.
Sophomore Avery Rosan (Frederica, Del / Polytech) (35:10.6), crossed the finish line two minutes later in 151st place. Senior Sean McKenna (Campbell, N.Y. / Campbell-Savona) (38:39.3) finished fifth among the Warriors in 169th.
Sophomore Depesh Rai (Enola, Pa. / East Pennsboro) (45:04.3), first-year Aidan Rozetar (Shoemakersville, Pa. / Hamburg Area) (45:25.0), and sophomore Thomas Anderson (Wenonah, N.J. / Deptford Township) (47:02.4) rounded out the men's team.
The Landmark Conference Championship will occur on Saturday Nov. 2, in Elizabethtown, Pa. The women compete at 11 a.m., and the men follow suit at 12 p.m.
