BEREA, Ohio – Ten Lycoming College wrestlers placed to help the team to a fourth-place finish at the John Summa Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 4, at Baldwin-Wallace University on Saturday, Feb. 4.
 
Twelfth-ranked junior 197-pounder Gable Crebs (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) and fourth-ranked senior heavyweight Connor Fulmer (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) each reached the finals before they medically forfeited out of the tournament to finish in second place.
 
Crebs won his first three matches, posting a pin and major decision in the first two rounds before posting a 5-0 decision over Division II West Liberty State's Drake Kendrex. Baldwin-Wallace's fourth-ranked Doug Byrne won the tournament, as Crebs bowed out after the match with Kendrex due to an injury.
 
Fulmer posted a pin before grinding out a 2-0 win in the quarterfinals and a 1-0 win over Baldwin-Wallace's Benjamin DeGuzman in the semifinals. Francesco Borsellino, West Liberty's sixth-ranked Division II grappler, won the tournament with a medical forfeit in the finals.
 
Sophomore 125-pounder Kaden Majcher (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run) and junior 141-pounder Wiley Kahler (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) each took fourth, first-year 184-pounder James Ellis (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) placed fifth and first-year 149-pounder Kobin Karper (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) finished sixth along with sophomore 165-pounder Chase Chapman (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola). Senior 165-pounder Preston Rogers (Towanda, Pa./Towanda Area) took seventh, as did first-year 174-pounder Eli Crum (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) and junior heavyweight Robbie West (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) placed eighth.
 
Majcher won his first two matches and finished 3-1 on the day and Kahler also went 3-1 before bowing out. Ellis won four bouts in the consolation bracket to fight back and place fifth, Karper won his opening two bouts to reach the semifinals before he left the tournament with an injury to finish sixth, Chapman finished 3-1 before bowing out of the event with an injury. Rogers finished 3-2 to take seventh, as did Crum. West had three falls and went 4-2 before he had to take a no-contest in the seventh-place match to finish eighth.
 
The Warriors get back on the mat on Saturday, Feb. 11, when they head to SUNY Brockport for an 11 a.m. dual before facing Niagara County Community College at 1 p.m.
