Kobin Karper (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) reached the semifinals at the NCAA Southeast Regional to lead a group of four Lycoming College wrestlers still alive at the two-day tournament after the first day of action on Friday, Feb. 24, at the M&T Bank Field House.

Along with Karper, who is a win away from reaching the NCAA Division III Championship, sophomore 125-pounder
Kaden Majcher (Turbotville, Pa./Warrior Run), junior 141-pounder
Wiley Kahler (Pottsville, Pa./Nativity BVM) and junior 197-pounder
Gable Crebs (Montoursville, Pa./Montoursville Area) are all three wins from reaching the NCAA Championship, needing to finish third at the tournament in wrestleback action.

The Warriors finished the first day of action in ninth place with 44 points in the 21-team field. The second day begins on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m.

Third-seeded Karper pinned Marymount's Lorenzo Coleman in 3:27 to open the tournament before posting a 7-4 win over Ferrum's Hayden Funck in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals. He faces second-seeded Hai Siu of Averett in the semifinals.

Majcher moved into the consolation bracket after an opening round loss to the second-seed, but rebounded with a medical forfeit win and a pin of Thiel's Evan Whiteside, setting up a consolation quarterfinals match with York's fourth-seeded Jared Kuhns on Saturday morning.

Kahler, the No. 7 seed, posted a 9-0 major decision over Gettyburg's Jake Stein in the opening round before falling to the No. 2 seed in the second round. He rebounded with a 5-0 win over Thiel's Hunter Martz and will face Marymount's Hernandez in the consolation quarterfinals.

Crebs, the No. 3, started the day with a pin of Roanoke's Cam Cavins in 2:28 before posting a pin of Washington & Jefferson's Nico Williams in 4:18. After a loss in the quarterfinals, he advanced to the consolation semifinals with a 37-second pin of Southern Virginia's Jaden Markus. He will face Rich Fronheiser in the consolation quarterfinals to start his second day of the tournament.
