YORK, Pa. – In the 100-yard freestyle preliminaries, junior
Cathryn Brought (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) broke an 18-year-old school record with a 54.27 before breaking her own record 10 hours later in the event finals by going two-tenths of a second faster to take fourth and highlight the Lycoming College swimming teams' final day at the MAC Championships on Sunday evening, Feb. 12, at the Graham Aquatic Center.

Brought's preliminary time broke Julia Harahush's 2005 time of 54.39 and then she broke her own record in the event finals with a 54.07. She was joined by teammate senior
Katherine Brown (Glenside, Pa./Abington) in the finals, as Brown placed fifth with the second-best time in program history at 54.24. Junior
Elisa DiNicola (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) swam a 56.67 for 19
th in the 'C' final.

The women finished  ninth in the standings with 405.5 points and the men placed 10
th with 311 team points.

In the 1650-yard freestyle, first-year
Augustus Wood (Herndon, Va./Herndon) placed in the top 20, taking 17
th with a 19:57.36.

Brown, Brought, Wood, and DiNicola joined forces in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking a final time of 3:47.11 to take eighth place.

On the men's side, junior
C.J. Zortman (York, Pa./York Suburban) finished with a 2:08.07 for 18
th in the 200-yard breaststroke. Senior
Will Marcinkowski (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College) swam a 2:20.08 in the 200-yard breaststroke to take 19
th with teammate junior
Eliot Keith (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) coming in 23
rd after swimming a 2:25.87.

Seniors
Reilly Gluz (Syracuse, N.Y./ Williston Northampton) and
Caleb Reigle (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) each placed in the 1650-yard freestyle with Gluz taking 19
th with a 19:05.50 and Reigle in 21
st, swimming a 19:39.65.

The Warriors sent out two teams for the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the 'A' relay of Zortman, Keith, sophomore
Noah Vivian (Barto, Pa./Boyertown) and junior
Brennan Warner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) posting a 3:24.45 to take 13
th and the 'B' team of Gluz, Marcinkowski, Reigle, and senior
Matthew Michenfelder (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) came in 22
nd in 3:32.89.

The Warriors will now wait for the announcement of the NCAA Championship field to see if Brown receives an invitation after earning a NCAA 'B' cut in the 100-yard breaststroke.
