Brynne Bisel (Julian, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) and sophomore middle hitter
Cameron Upcraft (Spring Mills, Pa./Penns Valley) – earned a slot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Wednesday, Dec. 12.
Eligible student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically, carry at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average and have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests/sets played or have started in at least 66 percent of the games/contests/sets.
Koval appeared in 81 sets and played in 22 matches for the Warriors, finishing second in the Landmark Conference and 11
th in Division III with an average of 6.01 digs per set. She also finished third on the team with 30 aces and she became the 15
th player in program history to reach 1,000 career digs on Oct. 27.
Bisel appeared in 86 sets and started 24 for the Warriors, as the outside hitter paced the team with 224 points, an average of 2.6 per set, 190 kills, or 2.21 per set and she was third on the squad with 2.74 digs per set. The junior notched six double-doubles during the season.
Upcraft finished ninth in the Landmark Conference with a .272 hitting percentage and eighth with 0.64 blocks per set. Appearing in 79 sets and making all 24 starts, Upcraft led the team with 2.72 points per set and was second on the team with 2.28 kills per set.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 9, 2024.
