WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College's Deb Holmes is one of 14 that will be honored as inductees into the West Branch Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame during the annual Hall of Fame banquet at the Genetti Hotel & Suites in Williamsport, on Sunday night, Nov. 13.
Holmes, who is being inducted posthumously, will be joined by living inductees: Jason Bohn, Ron Bowes, Joe Caruso, Amanda Daneker, Mike Mussina, Matthew Neenan, Mike "Ace" Packer, Chevon Troutman, George Way and Jessica Zinobile and deceased inductees Bill Blacksmith and Tim Montgomery.  Rhashan West-Bey will be honored as the Volunteer of the Year.

When making reservations, it is requested that you send attendees full name (please print or type legibly) as well as a contact person and phone number in case of questions. Each table seats no more than eight individuals, so please keep that in mind if making reservations for a group larger than eight. It is also requested that you notify us of what inductee you are there to see and choose an entrée – either chicken, gluten-free or vegetarian.
The deadline for registration for the banquet is Monday, Oct. 31.
A pioneering figure in Lycoming College women's athletics, Holmes served as women's tennis coach from 1976-2009, winning a school-record 137 matches, leading the team to four regular-season titles (1981, 1997, 1998, 2000), eight appearances in the postseason and two appearances in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship match (1981, 1999). She was also the 2000 MAC Freedom Coach of the Year and she coached two MAC Freedom Players of the Year and two MAC Freedom Rookies of the Year.
Holmes also started the women's basketball program in 1978, serving as the coach for seven years. She led the Warriors to their first .500 season in third year as a program and first 10-win season the next year. A member of Penn State's softball team from 1969-71, Holmes was also inducted into Lycoming Athletics (2013) and MAC (2022) Halls of Fame.
