Katherine Brown (Glenside, Pa./Abington) posted another NCAA 'B' cut time during a time trial in the 100-yard breaststroke at the Blue Jay Invitational at Johns Hopkins University's Newton White Athletic Center on Saturday, Feb. 19.

Brown posted a 1:04.48 in the evening time trial to win her race and notch her second 'B' cut time in seven days, as she notched the 19
th-fastest time in the NCAA Division III with a MAC-record 1:03.88 to win the MAC Championship in the 100-yard breaststroke on Feb. 12.

Brown's time before this weekend would qualify her for the NCAA Championships, as the top 20 swimmers in each event are chosen. She can be the first Lycoming swimmer to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Nate DeCapria in 2003 and the first women's swimmer since Denise Zimmerman in 1984.

The qualification period ends for Division III swimmers on Sunday, Feb. 20, ahead of the announcement of the selections on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

The championships begin on Wednesday, March 16 at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind., with the 100-yard breaststroke taking place on Friday, March 18.

Brown also swam in a morning session event, with Johns Hopkins' Taylor Rohovit, already ninth in the country in the event, posting a 1:03.86 to beat Brown, who notched a 1:06.21. She bear Kate Overbey, who also had previously achieved a 'B' cut in the race.

Sophomore
Eliot Keith (New Ringgold, Pa./Blue Mountain) also swam in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing third in the race in the morning with a 23.34 and he also finished third in the evening with a 23.53.
