WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Lycoming College swimming teams completed a successful first day at the virtual Middle Atlantic Conference Championships on Friday evening, April 16, at Lamade Gym Natatorium.

Freshman
Carter Branigan (Lansdowne, Pa./Commonwealth Charter) posted the third-fastest time in program history in the 200-yard individual medley, notching a 2:00.84, while junior
Jake Booth (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) was close behind in 2:03.00.

The 200-yard freestyle relay of Booth, Branigan, first-year
C.J. Zortman (York, Pa./York Suburban) and first-year
Brennan Warner (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) notched a time of 1:31.45.

Zortman edged out Warner in the 50-yard freestyle, notching a 22.88 to 23.40. Sophomores
William Marcinkowski (Philadelphia, Pa./LaSalle College) and
Matthew Michenfelder (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) also notched times of 23.84 and 23.94 in the event.

In the 500-yard freestyle, senior
Brandon Vought (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) posted a 5:09.81 and sophomore
Reilly Gluz (Syracuse, N.Y./Williston Northampton) was close behind in 5:15.22. Sophomore
Caleb Reigle (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) added a time of 5:40.46.
The 400-yard medley relay of Booth, Marcinkowski, Branigan and Warner finished the day with a time of 3:47.18.

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay of junior
Devon Kaiser (Cinnaminson, N.J./Cinnaminson), first-year
Courtney Chapman (Warminster, Pa./William Tennent), first-year
Elisa DiNicola (Williamsport, Pa./Loyalsock Township) and senior
Cara Zortman (York, Pa./York Suburban) posted a time of 1:43.39.

Zortman notched a solid 25.20 in the 50-yard freestyle, while Chapman finished in 26.87 and freshman
Sarah Loucks (Branchport, N.Y./Penn Yan).

Kaiser finished the 200-yard individual medley in 2:25.92. DiNicola added a solid 5:40.11 in the 500-yard freestyle and first-year
Ruth Kauffman (Sunrise, Fla./Homeschooled) added a 6:00.51.

In the 400-yard medley relay, Kauffman, Kaiser, DiNicola and Zortman finished the night with a time of 4:24.26.
The second day of the MAC Championships will get underway at 5 p.m. for the Warriors in Lamade Gym Natatorium.Â
