WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Even though the Lycoming College men's basketball team made six appearances in the MAC Commonwealth Championship final in the past nine years, it will be new territory for the team on Friday night, March 19, when it heads to top-seeded DeSales University for the MAC Freedom Championship game at 7 p.m.
In a strange scheduling quirk thanks to COVID-19, it will be the third straight game between the Warriors (4-2 overall) and the Bulldogs (9-1 overall).
The two teams split the first two games, with Lycoming winning convincingly, 75-62, in Lamade Gym to clinch a spot in the title game last Friday before DeSales gutted out a tough 63-59 win in Center Valley on Saturday. The teams feature two of the best defenses in the league, with Lycoming leading in field goal percentage defense (.411) and DeSales leading in points against (61.2).
