Warriors open the 2020-21 season against FDU-Florham

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Just three weeks less than a full year removed from winning their third MAC Commonwealth title in five years, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will finally open the 2020-21 season with a home-and-home set against FDU-Florham on Feb. 11-12.

Lycoming finished 20-9 in 2019-20, ending the year in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. Senior Darius Dangerfield was named the MAC Championship MVP after he scored 22 points in the championship game. He averaged 21.0 points, 6.3 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game in the tournament.

FDU-Florham went 12-14 in 2019-20, ending the year with a loss to top-ranked Stevens in the first round of the MAC Freedom Championship. 

Game Notes
• The Warriors are 46-26 all-time in season openers. They are 52-20 in home openers and 32-8 in Lamade Gym openers.

• Lyoming has started 12 consecutive seasons with a victory, dating back to a 71-65 overtime loss to Penn State Altoona in the 2007-08 opener.

• Lycoming has made an NCAA Championship appearance in each of the last five decades (1985, '96, '02, '04, '10, '16, '17, '20).

• With 288 three-pointers in 2019-20, the Warriors blasted past the previous school record of 257 set in 2018-19.

• Sophomore Dyson Harward broke the school's single-season record in blocked shots (66) as a freshman.

• Junior Matt Ilodigwe (57) and senior Darius Dangerfield (50) were 2/3 of the first trio in program history to each hit 50 three-pointers in a season, along with Ryan Hollis, in 2019-20.

• The Warriors feature one senior, two juniors, nine sophomores and six freshmen.
