WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After defeating Alvernia and clinching a spot in the MAC Conference Championship, the Lycoming College men's basketball team heads to Albright in its final road game of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Bollman Center.
The Warriors (16-7 overall, 9-5 MAC Commonwealth) kept a four-point advantage over the Golden Wolves in the final minute to win, 67-63. Freshman
Dyson Harward set a new single-season blocks record (62) with five blocks, also adding a team-high 18 points. Junior
Darius Dangerfield scored 13 points and senior
Ryan Hollis had 14.
Albright (12-10 overall, 7-6 MAC Commonwealth) defeated league-leading Widener, 74-71. Troy Smoot led the Lions with 15 points off the bench. Sidney Brown scored 14 and Samuel Majekodunmi finished with 12.
Game Notes
• Since Lycoming joined the MAC Commonwealth in 2007-08, the team has produced a league-best overall record of 219-119 and won more league games (111) than any other team. Albright is second with a 193-140 record and 109 conference wins.
• The Warriors have clinched a MAC Commonwealth Championship berth for the seventh time in last 10 years, the most in the league. Albright and Alvernia have each been to the conference tournament six times since 2010-11.
• The Warriors lead the MAC Commonwealth in scoring defense (69.3), defensive field goal percentage (.406) and blocks (4.35).
• With 62 blocked shots, freshman
Dyson Harward needs two more to tie Mike Bradley (2008-12) for 10th in the school's career record book. Harward has more blocks in his freshman year than the entire Albright team (49).
• With 232 made 3-pointers, the Warriors need two more to move into third in program history.Â
