Warriors open the new decade against William Paterson

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After an 18-day break in their schedule, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will open the new year by heading to Moravian College for the Steel Club Classic, facing off with William Paterson at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, in an opening-round game.

The Warriors (7-4 overall) are coming off a convincing 78-57 win over Wilkes on Dec. 17, as the win stopped a two-game skid. Senior Kayla Kline led the team with 16 points, junior Erica Lutz added 15 points and 16 rebounds and senior Akilah McFadden had 14 points and five steals.

The Pioneers (5-5 overall) have won four in a row, all NJAC contests, including a 60-57 overtime win against Stockton in the last outing on Dec. 14. Sophomore Yakira Rose led the way with 19 points.

Game Notes
• The Warriors are 6-0 when holding opponents to less than 40 percent shooting from the floor.

• With 104 career 3-pointers made, senior Morgan Mader needs to hit three more to tie Jessica Zerbee (2006-10) for fifth in program history.

• With her last 3-pointer against Wilkes, Mader became the eighth player in school history to can 30 in two seasons in a career.

• Junior Erica Lutz is fourth in the MAC Commonwealth with six double-doubles through the team's first 11 games.

• With 114 career blocks, Lutz needs one more to tie Andrea Cooper (2005-09) for third in program history.

• Senior Kayla Kline needs 26 more points to become the 12th player in school history to reach 1,000 in a career.

• Senior Akilah McFadden and Kline can become the first set of Warriors to reach 1,000 points in the same season since Adrienne Aiken and Kim Wood did it in 1990.
