WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -Â After two one-point outcomes in the regular season, the second-seeded Lycoming College women's basketball team will head into a rubber match with No. 3 seed Widener University in the semifinals of the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in Lamade Gym.
The Warriors (17-8 overall, 11-5 MAC Commonwealth) will try to rebound after falling to Widener (19-6 overall, 10-6 MAC Commonwealth), 68-67, on Saturday, Feb. 17. Lycoming came back from a 17-point deficit in the third quarter to have a chance to take a lead in the final 12 seconds.
In the first meeting between the two teams, Widener led for nearly the whole game, but junior
Kayla Kline drained a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.9 seconds left.
Game Notes
• The Warriors are hosting a Middle Atlantic Conference postseason game since beating Susquehanna, 63-44, in the 1997 MAC Championship quarterfinals.
• Lycoming has not advanced to a conference title game since 1990. The Warriors played in the MAC Northern Division final in 1988 and 1990.
• The Warriors need one more win to become the first team since the 1987-88 team won a school-record 21 games to post 18 wins in a season.Â
