Warriors host Stevenson in weekend conference match-up

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Winners of two of its last three, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will host Stevenson University on Saturday, Feb. 2, at 3 p.m., in Lamade Gym, as it looks to continue its second-half surge.

The Warriors (9-12 overall, 3-9 MAC Commonwealth) dropped a 57-54 contest to Alvernia in their last outing. Sophomore D'Yante Doughty led all scorers with 23 points, also pulling in eight rebounds. Senior Calvin Chandler recorded his second straight double-double, finishing with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Stevenson (13-7 overall, 7-4 MAC Commonwealth) downed Messiah in overtime, 86-84, on Wednesday night. Seniors Montaque Wright (21 points, 8 rebounds) and Marcus Dentley (20 points, 7 rebounds) led the Mustangs.

Warrior Notes

• The Warriors have had a player post at least 20 points in 15 games this season, the most since the 2012 squad did it 17 times. Sophomore D'Yante Doughty leads the team with four 20-point games.

• With 210 3-pointers made this year, the Warriors need 13 more to tie the 2000-01 team for third in program history.

• After tying a season-high of 46 rebounds against Albright, the Warriors nearly matched that total with 45 rebounds against Alvernia.

• After not recording a double-double through the first 100 games of his career, senior Calvin Chandler has notched one in back-to-back games.

• Chandler is averaging 15.3 points and 9.3 rebounds in the last seven games.

• Chandler needs three more points to reach 500 in his career.

• With his 16th of 23 points against Alvernia, sophomore D'Yante Doughty reached 400 for his career.
