WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Playing in their third straight Homecoming game, the Lycoming College football team will try to get back on track when it faces Alvernia University in Middle Atlantic Conference action at the Turf Field on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 12 p.m.

The Warriors (1-4 overall, 0-3 MAC) are coming off a 41-7 loss to No. 13 Delaware Valley, where junior Gianni Bryant-Lopez scored the lone touchdown with a 20-yard fumble recovery. Senior Sam Pawlikowski led the team with eight tackles.

The Golden Wolves (1-4 overall, 0-3 MAC) fell to Wilkes, 45-12, on Oct. 5.  Quarterback Darrius Sample rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Game Notes
• Sophomore Elijah Shemory needs 107 more passing yards to become the 12th quarterback in program history to reach 3,000 in a career. 

• With 30 career field goals, senior Jamie Fisher needs to make one more to break the school record set by John Phillips (1989-92).

• Senior Zach Kovach needs three more tackles to become the fifth Warrior to reach 100 in a career this year.

• Senior Duane Boone is tied for fourth in the MAC with 6.0 tackles for loss. He has at least one tackle for loss in each of the last four games.

• With 532 career kickoff return yards, senior Keith Batkowski needs 28 more to tie Josh Dixon for 10th in program history.

• Senior Stephen Toczylousky has six receptions this year of longer than 20 yards and 16 of his 21 yards have gone for a first down. 

A Rare Occurance
When junior Gianni Bryant-Lopez looked down and saw the football in his hands before sprinting 20 yards down the sideline for a touchdown against Delaware Valley, it marked the first fumble recovery for a touchdown since Wyatt Entz had one against Lebanon Valley in 2012. It was just the fourth time this decade (since 2010) that the Warriors scored on a fumble recovery.

Climbing the Charts
Sophomore Elijah Shemory is quickly moving up in the career record books, entering the game with Alvernia just 107 yards away from becoming the 13th quarterback at Lycoming to throw for 3,000 yards in a career. He became the 15th Warrior to complete 200 passes in a career at Delaware Valley, while he is two touchdown passes shy of tying for 12th in program history with Domenic Pacitti (1980-83). His average of 192.9 passing yards per game is second in program history, just behind Keith Cadden's 198.1 yards set from 1994-96.

The Deep Threat
Senior Stephen Toczylousky has turned into one of the top deep threats in the MAC this year. In five games, he has already posted three receptions of 40 yards or more, second only to King's Gabe Bocella, who has four. Toczylousky had a 76-yard reception for a touchdown against King's, the longest since Nick Costello had an 80-yard reception in 2017. Toczylousky, a Southern Columbia High School graduate, is sixth in the MAC with an average of 86.8 receiving yards per game and his 20.7 yards per catch is second in the league.

Behind the Line
Senior Duane Boone has started to make a big impact on the defensive line, as the 6-2, 211-pounder has moved into the top five in the league in tackles for loss, sitting tied for fourth with six. He has notched at least one tackle behind the line of scrimmage in the last four games, posting two against Widener and King's, when he had a hand in a career-best 10 stops. Boone also has 2.5 sacks to his credit, which is second on the team to junior Matt Galasso's three.

Fisher's Field Goals
With six field goals in the first five games, senior Jamie Fisher has climbed to the top of the  school's career field goal record book, currently sitting tied for first with 30 in his career. Fisher missed his first  field goal attempt against Delaware Valley and is currently 21st in Division III with 1.2 field goals made per game. He has hit two of the 10 longest field goals in program history and he has set a school record with seven career 40-yard field goals. Fisher is the first Warrior in program history to hit 10 field goals in back-to-back years after hitting 13-of-18 as a sophomore and 10-of-17 as a junior. 

Reaching 100
After four Warriors reached 100 career tackles in 2018, four more have already hit the mark in 2019, with a fifth closing in on the mark. Senior linebacker Zach Kovach had 97 career stops entering the game with Alvernia, posting 34 as a freshman, 25 as a sophomore, 17 as a junior and 21 this season.
