Warriors step back into conference play against Alvernia

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After stepping away from conference play during the break between semesters, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will wrap up its season with 10 MAC Commonwealth contests, starting by hosting Alvernia on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 4 p.m. in Lamade Gym.

The Warriors (11-4 overall, 5-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 77-55 win over King's on Saturday, Jan. 5. Junior Kayla Kline posted 17 points and 11 rebounds and senior Becca Painter added 16 points and a career-best nine rebounds in the win.

The Golden Wolves (3-11 overall, 0-5 MAC Commonwealth) fell to Stevenson, 77-49, on Thursday, Jan. 3. Both senior Maya Cooper and sophomore Gabriella DeVito had 11 points in the game.

Game Notes
• With a win, Lycoming can improve to 12-4 for the second straight year for the first time in program history.

• With a win, Lycoming can improve to 6-1 in MAC Commonwealth play, it's best start in conference action since the 1995-96 team started 6-1 in the MAC Freedom.

• With her first of 15 points against King's, junior Akilah McFadden became the 20th player in program history to reach 750 in a career.

• With 161 career steals, McFadden needs one more to tie Nicole Calella (2013-17) for eighth in program history.

• With 59 career blocks, sophomore Erica Lutz needs four more to pass Heather Jacobs (1995-98) for sixth in school history.

• With her 15 points and 10 rebounds against King's, junior Kayla Kline moved into fifth in the school's career record book with 12 double-doubles.
