WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Three Lycoming College wrestlers won all three of their matches on the first day of the 31^st Annual Whitehill Duals to pace Lycoming, which finished 1-2 in Group B with a 23-21 win over Castleton and losses to Wis.-Eau Claire, 27-15, and 17^th-ranked TCNJ, 37-9, on Friday afternoon, Jan. 11, at Lamade Gym.
 
Junior 157-pounder Trevor Corl (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte), junior 197-pounder Travis Ogden (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield) and sixth-ranked senior heavyweight Garrett Wesneski (Canton, Pa./Canton Area) each notched three wins to pace the Warriors.
 
Lycoming moved into the ninth-place bracket and will wrap up the duals with bouts at 9 a.m. against 23^rd-ranked Washington & Lee and at 12 p.m. against either Williams or Wesleyan.
 
Lycoming used wins at 197 and heavyweight to come from behind for the 23-21 win over Castleton, with Wesneski sealing the win with a 6-0 victory over Jesse Webb at heavyweight.
 
After falling behind 12-6, the Warriors tied the match when Corl posted a pin of Cooper Fleming in 3:39 at 157 before junior Hadyn Swartwood (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore Area) posted an 8-1 win over Cameron Milliken at 165 to give Lycoming a 15-12 lead before the Spartans posted nine points in the next two bouts to make it 21-15.
 
Ogden came back with a 15-0 technical fall win over Mitchell LaFlam at 197, setting up Wesneski's meet-clinching win at 285.
 
In the morning match, the Warriors won four of the 10 bouts, including two bonus-point wins, but Wis.-Eau Claire used three pins en route to a 27-15 win.
 
Sophomore Shane Casey (Catawissa, Pa./Southern Columbia) started the match with a 3-2 decision over Jack Marley at 125 pounds. Junior Trevor Corl (Howard, Pa./Bellefonte Area) added a 17-0 technical fall win over Brady Bastyr at 157 pounds to make it 12-8, but Wis.-Eau Clair racked up 15 points in the next three bouts to put it out of reach. Junior Travis Ogden (Clearfield, Pa./Clearfield Area) added a 5-2 win over James Huntley at 197 and senior Garrett Wesneski (Canton, Pa./Canton) picked up a 10-1 major decision over Austin Hakes at heavyweight to round out Lycoming's wins.
 
Against 17^th-ranked TCNJ, the Warriors fell victim to four bonus-point losses in the lower weight classes, as TCNJ posted a 37-9 win. Corl got Lycoming on the board with a 4-1 win over Mark Gerstacker at 157 before Ogden notched a 9-2 win over Alex Mirabella at 197 and Wesneski finished off his 3-0 day with a 6-0 win over Thomas Marretta at 285.
