Warriors hit the road for Old Line State and Saturday matchup at Hood

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Exiled from Lamade Gym for the Whitehill Duals, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will wrap up the first half of the MAC Commonwealth schedule by heading to Hood College on Saturday, Jan. 12, for a 1 p.m. game.

The Warriors (12-4 overall, 6-1 MAC Commonwealth) have won four games in a row, including a 70-45 win over Alvernia on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Junior Kayla Kline tied a career high with 24 points to lead the team and sophomore Erica Lutz added 15 points and six blocks.

The Blazers (5-10 overall, 1-5 MAC Commonwealth) fell to Albright, 48-42, in its last game on Jan. 9. Junior Ebony Pitt led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds, and four steals and freshman Morgan Anderson added a career-high 11 boards and four blocked shots.

Game Notes
• The Warriors lead the MAC Commonwealth in field goal percentage (.429) and rebounding defense (34.6).

• Sophomore Erica Lutz's six blocks against Alvernia were the most for a Warrior since Kat Andriani posted six at Arcadia on Feb. 9, 2013.

• With her third of six blocks against Alvernia, Lutz became the second player in program history to block 30 shots in a season twice in a career, joining Laurie Scherer (1998-02).

• Lutz is one of two players in the MAC Commonwealth in the top five in scoring (15.9, fifth) and rebounding (8.6, fifth).

• With 211 career assists, junior Akilah McFadden needs five more to tie Mindy Culp (2001-05) for ninth in school history.

• The Warriors are the only team in the MAC Commonwealth with three players in the top 10 in the league in assists in McFadden (sixth, 3.4), junior Kayla Kline (seventh, 3.3) and senior Becca Painter (eighth, 2.8).
