WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A stretch of six conference games before the New Year will come to a close for the Lycoming College women's basketball team on Saturday, Dec. 15, when they head to Widener University for a contest for second place in the MAC Commonwealth.
The Warriors (7-3 overall, 4-1 MAC Commonwealth) posted a fourth-quarter comeback to come within seven points of eighth-ranked Messiah, but the Falcons were able to hold on for a 69-58 win. Sophomore
Erica Lutz led the team with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
The Pride (10-1 overall, 3-1 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 76-61 win over Swarthmore. Their lone conference loss in the first part of the season was a 69-66 effort against Messiah in their opener before posting wins over Alvernia, Albright and Hood.
Warrior Notes
• With a win, the Warriors would improve to 5-1 in conference play for the second year in a row and the fourth time in program history.
• Lycoming leads the MAC Commonwealth in field goal percentage (.398), free throw percentage (.767) and turnovers (14.1).
