Warriors look for third-straight win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - After averaging 94.0 points during a fourth straight Dutch Burch Tip-Off championship run, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will look for its third-straight win when they head to Juniata on Tuesday,  Nov. 13, at 7 p.m.

The Warriors (2-0 overall) defeated Marywood 89-82 in the Dutch Burch Tip-Off title game, with tournament MVP senior Darius James leading the way with 15 points and a careerhigh 14 rebounds. The backcourt duo of freshman Markanthony Fidelis and sophomore Darius Dangerfield both had a career-high 21 points. 

The Eagles (0-0 overall) open the season after posting a 23-6 record in 2017-18, reaching the Landmark Conference championship game. Senior Brandon Martinazzi is the team's top returning scorer after averaging 11.6 points as a junior.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors have started the season 3-0 in each of the last three years.

• Head Coach Mike McGarvey will try to become the third Warrior boss to win his first three games as head coach and the first since Don Friday did it in 2003.

• Senior Darius James was named MAC Commonwealth Player of the week after averaging  20.0 points and 13.0 rebounds during the Dutch Burch Tip-Off.

• With his 14th of 15 points against Marywood, James reached 500 for his career.

• Sophomore Darius Dangerfield and freshman Markanthony Fidelis both had a career high 21 points against Marywood. The last time Lycoming had two players post 20 points in a game was  against Hood in a 106-100 win on Jan. 20, 2018

• Sophomore D'Yante Doughty has gone a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line to start the season.
