WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -Â For the first time in program history, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will head into play in the NCAA Championship for the second straight year when the team heads to Middlebury, Vt., where it will face Cabrini College on Friday, March 3, at 5:30 p.m. in the tournament's first round.
The Warriors (23-4 overall) secured an automatic bid to the tournament by virtue of winning its second straight MAC Commonwealth title on Saturday, Feb. 25, in a 76-62 win over Albright. Lycoming has won seven games in a row.
Cabrini (19-7 overall) earned an at-large bid out of the Colonial States Athletic Conference after losing in the conference semifinals on a buzzer-beater to Gwynedd Mercy, 73-71.
Game Notes
• The Warriors have won a school-record 23 games this year, surpassing the mark of 21 set by the 1995-96, 2003-04 and 2009-10 teams.Â
• The Warriors repeated as conference champions for the first time in program history.
