WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With a magic number that dropped to the attainable two after beating Alvernia, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will take its first shot at clinching its third straight berth in the MAC Commonwealth Championship when it heads to Arcadia University on Saturday, Feb. 4, for a 1 p.m.
The first-place Warriors (17-4 overall, 9-3 MAC Commonwealth) can clinch a spot in the five-team postseason tournament with a win and a Widener loss at Stevenson. The team snapped a two-game skid on Wednesday with a 78-61 win over Alvernia, using a 16-1, 8:40 run to take control of the game in the second half.
The Knights (9-11 overall, 4-7 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off close losses to Albright (76-69) and Messiah (75-69).
Game Notes
• The Warriors own the best record in the MAC Commonwealth since the start of the 2014-15 season, going 30-14 in league play.
• The Warriors have won at least 17 games in three straight years for the first time in school history.
