WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Heading into the MAC Commonwealth Championship final for the fifth time in eight years, the Lycoming College men's basketball team will look to repeat as conference champions for the first time in program history when it hosts Albright College on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 5 p.m., in Lamade Gym.
Admission to all MAC Commonwealth Championship games is set for $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $2 for students and children under six-years-old are free. The first 300 students with a Lycoming ID will be admitted for free and MAC Athletic Passes will be accepted for free admission at the door. Lycoming College athletic passes are not admissible for the game.
The top-seeded Warriors (22-4 overall) posted an 88-64 win over Lebanon Valley in the conference semifinals, with senior
David Johnson leading the team with 23 points and five steals and junior
Chris Wallace adding 16 points and seven steals.
The third-seeded Lions (13-13 overall) advanced to the championship with an 86-68 win over Widener in the semifinals. Freshman Fred Rowles led the team with 24 points.
Game Notes
• The Warriors have won a school-record 22 games this year, surpassing the mark of 21 set by the 1995-96, 2003-04 and 2009-10 teams.
• The Warriors have a chance to win the fourth conference title in school history, joining the 2001-02, 2003-04, and 2015-16 teams. Lycoming has played in 11 conference title games.
• The Warriors are trying to become the first top-seed to win the MAC Commonwealth Championship since Alvernia did it in 2013, beating the Warriors, 78-68, in the title game.
• Lycoming has advanced to six MAC Commonwealth title games since joining the league in 2007-08, the most in the conference in that time.
