GRANTHAM, Pa. – Junior
Emilie Kramer (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) won three individual events, freshman
McKenna Zeller (White Haven, Pa./Holy Redeemer) and senior
Andrew Canavan (Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) each set school records, and junior
Callan Jordan (Hurley, N.Y./Western Academy of Beijing) and freshman
Brandon Vought (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) each won two events to highlight the day, but the Lycoming College swim teams each fell to Messiah on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 18, in a Middle Atlantic Conference meet. The Warrior men fell 137-109 while the women also fell, 155-91.

Zeller broke her program record in the 100-yard backstroke, beating it by just one tenth of a second as she swam a 101.10. She has set the record three times already this year. Canavan, meanwhile, broke the school-record while finishing second in the 100-yard individual medley, posting a time of 56.36, breaking the mark of 57.24 set by Dan Apostolu in 2015.

Kramer took first in the 200-yard individual medley, swimming a 2:20.21, 100-yard individual medley, swimming a 1:04.30, and the 200-yard breaststroke, finishing in 2:39.29. Kramer just missed out on setting the school record in the 100-yard individual medley as she came up about a second short of Eileen Mackson's 34-year record.

On the men's side, Canavan took first in the 200-yard individual medley with a swim of 2:04.33 as he won the race by six seconds. He also took first in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.98. Jordan took first in both the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke. He swam a 54.63 in the 100-yard butterfly and a 53.98 in the 100-yard backstroke. Vought took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:09.88 swim while also taking first in the 1650-yard freestyle with a swim of 18:15.85, winning by 45 seconds.

Freshman
Caleb Beard (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) also picked up a first-place finish, earning the win in the 200-yard freestyle with a swim of 1:55.64.

The 200-yard mixed relay team of Zeller, sophomore
Josh Caro (Ontario, Calif./Colony), Jordan and freshman
Cara Zortman (York, Pa./Suburban) took second with a swim of 1:48.38, missing out on first by about two seconds.

The Warrior men and women both fell to 2-3 overall. Both the Messiah men and women improved to 3-4.

The Warriors return to the pool on Sunday, December 3, when they host Wilkes in a MAC meet at 2 p.m. in the Lamade Gym Natatorium.
