WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With four straight winning seasons under its belt, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will start its quest for its fifth when it opens the 2017-18 season against Penn State Hazleton on Wednesday night, Nov. 15, at Lamade Gym.

The Warriors finished 2016-17 with a 15-11 record. The team returns four starters, including First Team All-MAC Commonwealth forward Shelby Mueller, who was sixth in the conference in scoring and fifth in rebounding. Sophomores Kayla Kline (10.7) and Akilah McFadden (11.7) also averaged in double figures.

The Lions, who are coming off a 19-8 season, opened its 2017-18 season with an 82-47 win over Luzerne County Community College. Kendra Pfeil scored 23 points off the bench.

• Senior Shelby Mueller needs nine more points to become the 13th player in school history to reach 900 in a career.

• Mueller needs 11 more rebounds to become the 10th player in school history to grab 500 in a career.

• With 70 career blocks, Mueller needs five more rejections to tie Lyndy LeVan for fourth in program history.

• The Warriors' average of 67.6 points per game in 2016-17 was the team's highest since 2000-01.

• Mueller and sophomores Akilah McFadden and Kayla Kline became just the third trio in school history to each post 250 points in a season in 2016-17.
