Warriors hit the road for Widener looking for seventh win

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Two teams that were predicted to battle for MAC Commonwealth Championship slots will hit the court on Saturday, Dec. 10, in a key early season matchup when the Lycoming College women's basketball team looks for its third straight win at Widener University.

The Warriors (6-2 overall, 1-1 MAC Commonwealth) are looking for their third straight win after posting an 86-67 win over Hood and a 52-49 win over King's. Freshman Akilah McFadden led the Warriors in the win over the Monarchs, scoring 20 points, including five in the final 2:31 to ensure the win.

The Pride (2-5 overall, 0-3 MAC Commonwealth) are coming off a 78-73 loss to 20th-ranked Albright, as junior Allison Gallagher led the way with 21 points.

Warrior Notes
• The Warriors are 2-0 when a player scores 20 or more points.

• Junior Shelby Mueller can become the first player to post three straight double-doubles since Lyndy LeVan did it in 2002-03.

• Freshman Akilah McFadden is third in the MAC Commonwealth in assists (3.9), fourth in blocked shots (1.38) and sixth in steals (2.2).

• Senior Nicole Calella needs one point to reach 600 in her career.

• With 303 career assists, Calella is 12 shy of tying Jessica Zerbee (2006-10) for third in program history.

• Freshman Kayla Kline is averaging 13.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in the last two games.

• With her team-leading five 3-pointers this year, junior Haley Sipple has already tied her career high for 3-pointers made.
