WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – For the fifth time in six years, the Lycoming College volleyball team has qualified for the MAC Commonwealth Championship and will open the five-team tournament as the No. 5 seed when it heads to No. 4-seed Widener University in the first round on Monday night, Oct. 31, with the winner set for a matchup with top-seeded Stevenson University on Wednesday night, Nov. 2.

The MAC Commonwealth Championship is a ticketed event, with tickets available for $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and $2 for students. Children under six are free. Long-sleeve graphite-gray moisture wick championship T-shirts will be available for $18.
The Warriors (15-19 overall, 3-5 MAC Commonwealth) are looking to advance to the conference semifinals for the third time in five years, as the team knocked off Widener, 3-2, in 2012 and 3-1, in 2014. Those are the only two meetings between the two programs in the postseason, although Widener has won the last two meetings in the all-time series, including a 3-0 win earlier this year.

Senior
Kristine Jahn (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) posted 14 kills to lead Lycoming in the regular-season meeting, but Widener edged out the Warriors in three extremely close sets, 27-25, 30-28, 25-22, on Wednesday, Oct. 19. Jahn hit .310 and senior
Tayler Whitman (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) added eight kills and five blocks in the match.

The Warriors are led by Jahn, who is sixth in the conference with a .281 hitting percentage, while her 2.53 kills per set also lead the team. Senior
Lauren Fink (York, Pa./West York) is sixth on the team with 0.45 aces per set, junior
Catherine Burger (Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford) is sixth with 6.57 assists per set and freshman
Alysa McDevitt (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) is eighth with 0.66 blocks. Sophomore
Emily Hepner (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) is second in the conference with 4.66 digs per set.

Widener (12-17 overall, 4-4 MAC Commonwealth) is led by the conference's top-hitter, Nicole Dorman, who averages 3.92 kills per set. Sabrina Barbieri is second with 9.20 assists and eighth with 0.44 aces per set, Jane Kalinock is third with 0.87 blocks per set and Lauren Elliott is sixth with 3.86 digs per set.
