WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -Â After coming back from an 11-point deficit against Widener, the Lycoming College women's basketball team will head to Stevenson on Monday, Feb. 1, for a critical battle of second-place teams in the MAC Commonwealth.
The Warriors (12-7 overall, 7-3 MAC Commonwealth) were led by sophomore
Haley Sipple, Â who scored a career-high 24 points in the 71-65 comeback win against Widener on Jan. 30. Sophomore
Shelby Mueller also added 15 points, as Lycoming scored 28 points in the paint.
The Mustangs (10-6 overall, 7-3 MAC Commonwealth) beat Arcadia, 67-50, in its last outing. Junior Sara Tarbert led the way with 15 points while senior Stephanie Martinez and freshman Jonyae Curry each scored 10.
Warrior Notes• The Warriors need one more win to clinch the program's third straight .500 season. It would be the first time since a five-season run from 1993-98 that the team accomplished that.
• Lycoming's magic number to clinch a spot in the five-team MAC Commonwealth Championship is three (any combination of Lycoming wins and Widener losses).
