WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - With the Lycoming College men's basketball team in postion to clinch the first Commonwealth Conference Tournament berth, the first-place team will head to Widener University for a conference clash on Wednesday night, Feb. 4.
The Warriors (14-6 overall, 9-2 Commonwealth) have won four in a row and eight of their last nine games, including a sound 96-78 win over Hood on Saturday, Jan. 31, helping make up for a 72-70 loss to Hood in December. The Warriors can clinch a conference tournament berth with a win and a loss by Lebanon Valley at Arcadia.
The Pride (9-11 overall, 2-9 Commonwealth) have dropped nine games in a row, a streak that included Lycoming's 69-64 win over the Pride on Jan. 3 in Williamsport.
Warrior Notes• The Warriors are looking to improve to 10-2 in conference play for the fifth time in program history (1965-66, 1984-85, 1995-96, 2002-03).
• The Warriors are fourth in Division III in free throw attempts (564) and seventh in free throw makes (367).
• The team also leads the Commonwealth Conference in scoring offense (76.5), steals (19.1), field goal percentage defense (.420), 3-point field goal percentage defense (.295), 3-point field goal percentage (.372), turnover margin (+5.3) and offensive rebounds (14.25).

Justin Iton became the fourth freshman to reach 100 points on the season with his third of nine against Hood, joining
Issak Bodon,
Alex Newbold and
Chris Wallace. They are the first freshmen quartet in program history to all reach that plateau.
• Senior
Malcolm Covington needs 17 more points to reach 1,000 in his collegiate career. He scored 647 in two years at SUNY Orange.
• Covington needs seven more assists to become the 15th player in school history to post 200 in a career.
